Experiential learning and entrepreneurial exposure have been key areas of focus for KL University for over 45 years. Building on this strong foundation, KLU organized a professional visit for students to WE-Hub, Hyderabad. This initiative, conducted by the KLH Women Development Cell (KLH Aziznagar Campus) with the IEEE Student Chapter, highlights KLU’s academic ecosystem, which makes it rank among the top universities in South India.
This visit allowed the students to explore the dynamic startup ecosystem while interacting with an incubator dedicated exclusively to empowering women entrepreneurs. Established by the Government of Telangana, WE-Hub is recognized as India’s first state-led incubator for women entrepreneurs, offering mentorship, funding access, networking platforms, and incubation programs designed to transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses.
During the session, students were introduced to the mission and working model of WE-Hub. Experts from the incubator explained how structured incubation programs, training modules, and collaborative networks help entrepreneurs move from early-stage ideas to sustainable ventures. The interaction helped students understand the challenges and opportunities within the startup ecosystem, particularly for women entrepreneurs.
A key highlight of the visit was an entrepreneurial ideation exercise where students participated in a fast-paced startup simulation. Working with activity sheets built around four critical pillars of entrepreneurship, namely Problem, Solution, First Users, and Revenue Model, students brainstormed ideas and developed quick business concepts. Within a short time frame, participants presented two-minute pitches, replicating the intensity and clarity required in real startup environments. The exercise encouraged students to think critically, structure business ideas effectively, and communicate solutions with confidence.
Students also visited the WE Corner, a showcase space featuring products created by entrepreneurs supported by the incubator. The display included handmade products, consumer innovations, and technology-driven solutions developed by women-led startups. Each product represented the journey of entrepreneurs who transformed their ideas into viable businesses through mentorship and incubation support.
The visit comes in the backdrop of a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KLH Aziznagar Campus and WE-Hub, aimed at building long-term academic and innovation collaboration. The partnership seeks to strengthen entrepreneurial thinking, leadership development, and startup exposure among students while promoting opportunities for women in entrepreneurship.
Through such initiatives, KL University continues to integrate innovation, industry exposure, and entrepreneurial learning into its academic framework.
